NY Traffic Ticket Lawyer

If you are convicted of a traffic offense in New York, you should consider pleading not guilty and hiring a traffic ticket lawyer. Most New York traffic tickets, such as speeding tickets, cell phone tickets, or failure to yield to a pedestrian or emergency vehicle tickets also carry points in addition to the fines, which will end up costing you much more money due to increased insurance premiums and possible driver assessment fees.

In addition, if a New York driver gets 11 points within an 18 month period, they will find themselves in danger of having their driving privileges suspended. The revocation of a New York driver’s license will occur if a driver accumulates 3 speeding tickets within an 18 month period. Accumulation of 6 or more points with an 18 month period will subject the driver to the New York Drivers Assessment Program, which will cost them even more in fines and fees. A traffic lawyer may help drivers avoid these suspensions and extra fees.

Attorney Michael Block has more than 25 years experience fighting traffic tickets and achieving positive outcomes for his clients. Important Facts You Should Know:

  • Seat Belts: Car crashes are the leading cause of death for children age 4 and every age 11 through 27 in the U.S.Drivers and front seat passengers must wear seat belts at all times in the State of New York. Adults failing to wear a seat belt can be ticketed. Children, until the age of eight, must be in a car seat or booster seat. Failure to properly restrain all children under age 16 can result in tickets with 3 points for each child not in a proper child safety restraint.
  • Stop Signs: A way to reduce the number of killed and or injured pedestrians on Long Island is to be mindful and adhere to Stop Signs. It’s also important to stop at Stop Signs because they help regulate traffic flows. If there were no Stop Signs, then the roads would be a constant gridlock of traffic.
  • Spillback: If you are driving in Manhattan and you have a green light, but there are cars stopped in front of you on the other side of the intersection, that should be a warning sign to slow down. If there are cars stopped on the other side of the intersection but the rear end of the last car is still in “the box” that is a clear sign to stop!
